All-Stars Tournament Update!

12's District Team Wins On Walk-Off Home Run
On Sunday evening in Palo Alto, behind a dominating pitching performance by starter Hong Lin, the 12's All-Star team defeated San Carlos in dramatic fashion on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Foster City started the game with 3 runs in the first inning to take a quick 3-0 lead.  San Carlos battled back to tie the game, but FC quickly regained the lead to go ahead 5-3.  San Carlos was able to tie the game in the top of the 6th to set up the exciting finish in the bottom of the 6th when FC's Rylan Yates blasted a towering home run over the centerfield wall to end the game.  Foster City's next game is this Thursday night at 6:30pm against a powerful Menlo-Atherton team.  The game is at the Palo Alto Little League field on Middlefield Road in Palo Alto.  Go Foster City!

More All Stars News:

11's District Team Falls Just Short
The 11s district team played in San Mateo over the weekend.  On Saturday, Foster City lost a heartbreaker to San Mateo American by a score of 2-1.  Cooper Bennett pitched 5 strong innings, but Foster City's 6th inning rally came up just short when a great play by San Mateo ended the game.  On Sunday Foster City lost another tight game to Palo Alto by a score of 7-6.  Natangwe ("Nat") Ha pitched all 6 innings for Foster City and was dynamite as usual.  The game once again came down to the last out, and once again the rally fell just short.  The kids were understandably disappointed, but like all FC teams, they handled the tough losses with class and came away with some lasting memories.

10's – They played their first game on Saturday and played again yesterday in Portola Valley, but didn’t advance to the next round.  Great job kids!

Minors Superbowl - FCLL hosted the Minors Super Bowl at Sea Cloud Park from June 19-22. Our FC Minors team competed against Alpine, a very tough opponent and ultimate winner of this tournament, and while there was a lot of energy and excitement for this post season game, FC didn’t advance to the next round. It wasn’t the outcome we hoped for but the kids played their hardest and had a lot of fun getting to know each in the post-season.  Way to go kids!
